| A
Short Circuit and Coordination study is critical for
the safe, efficient, and economical operation of
your electrical distribution system.
A short circuit study
will help to insure that personnel and equipment are
protected by establishing proper interrupting
ratings.
When an electrical
fault exceeds the interrupting rating of the
protective devices, the consequences can be
devastating. Costly downtime, damaged equipment, and
even possible injury!
A coordination study
maximizes power system selectivity by isolating
faults to the nearest protective device, as well as
helping to avoid nuisance tripping, and failures due
to transformer and motor start up conditions.
ITU will provide a
complete distribution system device protection and
coordination analysis. Our engineers use
true-to-the-form computer protective devices
modeling. ITU has developed an extensive validated
and verified device library of nearly every
protection device being used today. An engineer will
use state-of-the-art computer modeling to engage a
sequence-of-operation analysis, verify and confirm
the operation and selectivity of the protective
devices for various types of faults in your
facility.
The analysis will
determine:
- Device sequence
of operation
- 3-phase and
ground fault reactions
- Proper device
operating and clearing time
- Load flow and
voltage drop characteristics
The final reporting
will be in a comprehensive packaged binder. Compiled
with summaries, explanations, graphical outputs,
drawings, and detailed reports. |
